   The highest or lowest concentration of a flammable gas or vapor in air that will explode or burn readily when ignited. This limit is usually expressed as a volume percent of gas or vapor in air.explosive range, flammability range The set of all concentration between the upper and lower explosive limits of a particular gas or vapor.
